Rough Fill - How To Remove An In-Ground Swimming Pool
Here we go; time to fill the pool! We were lucky to have a yard that was built up artificially high around the pool so we were able to use a lot of that dirt and avoid trucking more in.
This part is pretty self-explanatory EXCEPT for the need to compact the dirt as you go. We, in conversation with the inspector, decided to do what are called "8 inch lifts" which means you "lift" the level by 8" then compact it, then repeat until your final grade is achieved. We used a vibratory plate compactor to do this. Here we go:
